A woman in the Odessa region attempted to give a bribe to a judge, believing it to be merely a "gift."
This is reported by the publication "Judicial and Legal Newspaper".
The High Council of Justice has contacted the Office of the Prosecutor General, requesting an investigation into the incident that took place in the Odessa District Administrative Court.
The incident occurred in November 2024. An unfamiliar woman entered the courtroom where Judge Ivanov was holding hearings. She inquired about the judge's whereabouts and asked for updates on the case of Vyacheslav D., who was contesting the decision of the military medical commission. Later, she left a package in the courtroom containing a large sum of money in dollars and a bottle of alcohol. The court secretary refused to accept the package, and the woman took it back.
Judge Ivanov interpreted this incident as an attempt to influence the outcome of the court proceedings and immediately reported it to law enforcement, also stating his withdrawal from the case. Following the interference with the judge's activities, the police initiated a criminal case under Article 376 of the Criminal Code, which provides for a penalty of up to three years of imprisonment. The investigation is currently ongoing.
