On the front lines, the star of the film "Dovbush," actor Yakov Tkachenko, was killed; he was 45 years old.
The news of the Ukrainian actor's death was announced by director Oles Sanin and actor Yevgeny Chernikov.
"I have known Yakov since 2016 and witnessed his growth as a sincere patriot of our country! From the very first days, he defended us as part of the Territorial Defense, and later joined the 3rd Assault Brigade," Chernikov reported.
Director Oles Sanin also expressed his condolences.
“We spoke two days ago. One of the most talented Ukrainian actors. A true knight. A real friend. My deepest condolences to Yakov's family and loved ones. Eternal glory to the hero!” – Sanin wrote.
Ukrainian actor Yakov Tkachenko is known for his roles in films such as Red, Priputni, The Price of Truth, Dishonored Serfs, and Dovbush. One of the actor's latest roles was in the Ukrainian series "The Carrier."
In the Armed Forces, the actor fought near Ugledar, earning the rank of junior sergeant, and later became the sergeant major of his platoon and acting platoon commander.
In February 2023, Tkachenko was demobilized, but by September 2024, he returned to the front lines.
