Volunteer and writer Evgenia Dukhopelnikova has passed away; details about the farewell have been announced.

The news of Dukhopelnikova's death was shared by volunteer Katya Berezhnaya on Facebook.

"I have something to explain, as I was waiting for her parents to be informed and had hoped that it wouldn't leak to the public before that. Zhenya tragically died last night," Berezhnaya wrote.

The volunteer admitted that she still cannot comprehend this fact.

The circumstances of her death have not been disclosed, but it is known that the farewell to Evgenia Dukhopelnikova will take place on Sunday, December 22, in Odessa.

Evgenia Dukhopelnikova had been volunteering since 2014, and her husband, Junior Sergeant Mikhail Chernick, is serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the country.

In 2020, her debut book about the war in Ukraine, "Girls at War: The Journey of Dovboklyuya," was published by Folio, which discusses how people at war live, joke, and cry.
