In the Kharkiv region, a court examined the case of a serviceman who, while repelling an attack from an enemy drone, fired several shots at another soldier who was not at his post at that time.

Case Details
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that the military personnel were on combat duty with their comrades. While on duty, the soldiers spotted an enemy UAV in the sky and began to open fire. At that moment, the accused noticed that one of his fellow soldiers was absent from his post.
During a quarrel that arose due to the absence of his comrade at the position, the serviceman opened fire on him, firing three to four shots. As a result, the victim sustained serious injuries.
Court's Position
The court classified the actions of the accused as causing serious bodily harm. At the same time, the victim and his lawyer did not appear at the hearing, despite proper notification.
Taking into account all the circumstances of the case, the court delivered a verdict of two years of imprisonment. However, the sentence was commuted to one year of probation.
The verdict is not subject to appeal, considering that the actual circumstances of the case were not contested in the court of first instance.
