American billionaire Elon Musk has denied the information reported by Reuters that Ukraine may lose access to the Starlink satellite communication system.
Musk shared this on his page on X.
This is a lie. Reuters is lying. They only rank behind AP (Associated Propaganda) as outdated news liars, — he wrote.
Reuters, citing three sources, previously reported that during negotiations regarding a mineral deal, American representatives raised the issue of a potential limitation on Ukraine's access to Elon Musk's Starlink satellite communications.
One of the agency's sources indicated that losing Starlink would be a serious blow to Ukraine.
Currently, the satellite communication system is actively used both on the front lines and to support critical infrastructure operations. In December 2024, SpaceX signed a contract with the U.S. Department of Defense that includes expanding Ukraine's access to Starshield—a more secure, militarized version of the Starlink network.
