"Не може бути й мови!": президент Словаччини передумав їхати в Україну

The President of Slovakia, Peter Pellegrini, has canceled his planned visit to Ukraine due to the halt of Russian gas transit through Ukrainian territory, which has affected supplies to his country.

This was reported by Aktuality.

It is noted that Pellegrini, while serving as president, has already visited all neighboring countries; however, the visit to Kyiv, which was previously announced, has now been called off.

Given these circumstances, my trip to Ukraine is impossible. If it’s only for a photo opportunity, and I am informed that not a single drop of oil or gas will be delivered to Slovakia, then why should I go there? I hope no one takes offense, – he stated.

The president also emphasized that the decision of the Ukrainian government and president to stop gas transit through Ukraine "seriously threatens Slovakia's energy security."

When the Ukrainian parliament passes laws that impose a ban on the transportation of oil to Slovakia, despite existing contracts, my trip to Kyiv under such conditions makes no sense, – Pellegrini added.
