According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders repelled 48 assault actions over the past day, December 18. Currently, the enemy is situated 6-7 kilometers from the city of Pokrovsk itself. This was reported by the head of the communications department of the 117th Brigade, Yulia Stepanuk, during a broadcast on the national telethon "Unified News."
"In our area of responsibility, the situation is under control. The enemy is now conducting assaults in small groups, in pairs and threes. Previously, they carried out full-scale assaults with 10-15 servicemen from the Russian Federation, but now they have changed their tactics and infantry operates in pairs and threes. They have also begun using FPV drones over fiber optics more frequently. Their efforts in this regard are increasing.
We are currently exploring ways to combat this. The most effective means against FPV is pump-action weapons or rifles, as electronic warfare does not affect them in any way. Additionally, we are being troubled by "Lancets," and "Zalis" are also in the air.
I believe that the situation is currently under control. The enemy is located 5-7 km from the city itself. A considerable number of forces, that is, brigades, are being deployed in this direction to maintain the integrity of the city," Yulia Stepanuk stated.
