Restoring Russian gas supplies to Europe is not an option, even if Ukraine and Russia reach a peace agreement. This was stated by Polish President Andrzej Duda in an interview with the BBC.
According to him, the "Nord Stream" pipelines, which have not been in use since 2022, "must be dismantled."
I can only hope that European leaders will learn from this... and make the decision never to resume gas transit through these pipelines.
The "Nord Streams" must be dismantled. They pose a significant threat to Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, and other Central European countries.
Possible gas supplies through the "Nord Streams" would represent both an energy and economic threat, the Polish president added. He stated that they would signify "Russia's dominance over Europe in an economic sense."
