In Kryvyi Rih, a man fired a grenade launcher at an apartment; the court has delivered its verdict.
A shocking crime occurred in Kryvyi Rih, which stirred the city. Early in the morning on January 25, 2024, a 37-year-old resident fired a shot from a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher (RPG) directly at a residential building.

At the time of the attack, the residents were still in their apartments, with most of them asleep. The projectile shattered windows in four apartments. The impact struck the balcony unit, damaging the wall opposite the window and rupturing a pipe, which caused significant flooding in the premises.

Shortly after the incident, police managed to apprehend the suspect. The man was charged under Article 296, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which classifies the act as hooliganism committed with the use of weapons.

The reasons behind such a radical act turned out to be quite unexpected: according to the investigation, the perpetrator suspected one of the residents of drug trafficking and decided to "teach him a lesson." However, his actions resulted in considerable destruction and posed a threat to the safety of all residents in the building.

After several months of court proceedings, on October 30, 2024, the court delivered a verdict, finding the accused guilty and sentencing him to 5 years of imprisonment. This case has become a clear example of the judiciary's serious approach to actions that endanger the lives and safety of citizens.

It is worth noting that a survey revealed how much Ukrainians are willing to bear the burden of war.
