On the night of January 12, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine with 94 Shahed-type drones and other UAVs. The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to shoot down 60 of them.
This information was reported by the command of the Air Forces.
The air defense operated in 12 regions, including Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Donetsk. An additional 34 drones, which simulated an attack, disappeared from radar and caused no harm.
Debris from the downed drones damaged several buildings in the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Poltava regions. There are no reported injuries.
In Kharkiv Oblast, according to the head of the OVA, Oleg Synehubov, windows of a residential building were damaged by debris in the village of Vlasivka. Debris was also found in fields near the village of Braïlivka and other settlements.
In Kyiv Oblast, debris fell in open areas outside populated places, so infrastructure was not affected.
