On the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the EU Council adopted a comprehensive 16th package of economic and individual sanctions against the Russian Federation. This package targets significant sectors of the Russian economy.
This information was reported by the European Council.
"For three years, Russia has been continuously bombing Ukraine in an attempt to seize lands that do not belong to it. This new round of sanctions is aimed not only at the Russian shadow fleet but also at those who support the exploitation of dangerous oil tankers, video game controllers operating drones, banks circumventing our sanctions, and propaganda media spreading lies," stated EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell.
