Maibozhenko V. V. was found guilty of committing a criminal offense as defined in part 1 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court imposed a penalty agreed upon by both parties in the form of a fine amounting to two thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens, along with a three-year prohibition on driving vehicles," the court ruling stated.

Thus, the official, who struck four pedestrians while under the influence of alcohol, was fined 34,000 UAH. According to part 3 of Article 469 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, a reconciliation agreement between the victim and the suspect or accused may be established in cases involving minor offenses, less serious crimes, and in private prosecution criminal proceedings.

In criminal proceedings where multiple victims are involved from the same criminal offense, the agreement can only be established with all victims (part 8 of Article 469 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine).

If the court is convinced that the agreement can be approved, it issues a verdict that affirms the agreement and imposes the penalty agreed upon by both parties.

Recall that on April 26, 2024, Volodymyr Maibozhenko drove his vehicle into a crowd at a pedestrian crossing. As a result of the accident, four people were injured, including a child. Two of the injured were in serious condition.

President Zelensky dismissed Maibozhenko from his position as head of the Brovary District State Administration.
