President Volodymyr Zelensky is not yet ready to sign an agreement with the United States regarding access to Ukrainian mineral resources. The reason for this is the "problematic issues" within the draft agreement, as reported by Sky News.
A source from the publication notes that the agreement "is not ready for signing yet, as there are several problematic issues, and in its current form, the president is not prepared to accept it."
Currently, the projects do not reflect a partnership in the agreement and only contain unilateral obligations from Ukraine, the Sky News interlocutor stated.
In contrast, U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the parties are close to reaching an agreement. U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz stated this week that the agreement will be finalized.
Earlier, we reported that the U.S. has partially unthawed funding for foreign programs.
