Every family facing challenging life circumstances can seek social support from the government. The next step is "Identifying the needs of the child and their family for social services." The "No to Orphanhood!" program by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation organized a webinar on this topic.
This is reported by RBK-Ukraine (Styler project) referencing the foundation's announcement.
Experts emphasize that the higher the quality of the situation assessment by specialists, the greater the chances for the family to overcome difficult scenarios.

Additionally, after viewing, participants can obtain a listener's certificate; for this, they should contact the foundation's specialists.
There are 7 steps to assess the social needs of a family. It all begins with defining the objective of this work and the decisions that will be made based on the assessment results. Typically, specialists focus particularly on the type of case—simple, complex, urgent—and the list of services the family may be eligible for.
"However, it is crucial to pay attention to the strengths of both the adults and the children during the needs assessment. This is the potential that can help the family break the cycle," emphasizes Olesya Bilko, head of the department for enhancing the professional competencies of social service providers at the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Center for Social Services.
Another key step is establishing partnerships with the child, family members, and specialists from the inter-agency team.
"When we are ill, a doctor makes prescriptions only after additional examinations. The same applies in the field of social services: we need to clearly understand what information is necessary for the overall picture and where we can obtain it. It may be necessary to reach out to an educational institution. Perhaps to the local government," explains the speaker.
The event, aimed at social service specialists, gathered around 300 attendees.
