American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez made an appearance at the premiere of the film "Kiss of the Spider Woman" at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. On the red carpet, she dazzled in a sheer lace dress. As is customary, the star shared corresponding photos on her social media pages.

For her public appearance, the artist chose a form-fitting black outfit by Valdrin Sahiti featuring a high slit at the back, embellished with Hassanzadeh jewelry shaped like a web. She completed the look with a pair of black shoes by Christian Louboutin and a matching clutch.

Lopez styled her long hair in an elegant updo.

The musical film "Kiss of the Spider Woman," directed by Bill Condon and based on the 1976 novel by Manuel Puig, tells the story of a political prisoner who tries to escape the horrors of incarceration by imagining films featuring a classic actress named Ingrid Luna. The lead roles in the film are played by Lopez and Diego Luna. The producers of the film include Jennifer's ex-husband, Ben Affleck, and his childhood friend Matt Damon.

The official synopsis for the Sundance festival describes the film as "a textually rich historical and political drama with the flamboyant extravagance of an old Hollywood musical."

According to Lopez, she prepared for the role of Ingrid in the film for months.

"I would have liked to have a whole year to make such a big musical, but we didn't have that – this independent film, and so everything was rushed. We didn't have much time. It was difficult. Really difficult. For me, even though I was a dancer. But for Diego and Tona (Tonatiuh), it was very challenging, but we managed," Jennifer said.

She added that she felt born for this role.

Chita Rivera, who passed away at the age of 91 on January 30, played the role of Aurora in all three productions staged in Toronto/West End in 1992, on Broadway in 1993, and in the national tour in 1996. Sonia Braga played a triple role of Leni Lamaison, Marta, and the Spider Woman in the 1985 film adaptation by Hector Babenco, which received critical acclaim and grossed $17 million worldwide.

Previously, Jennifer starred alongside 74-year-old Braga in the crime drama "City on the Edge" directed by Gregory Nava in 2007, which received dismal reviews and flopped at the box office.

The date and world premiere of "Kiss of the Spider Woman" have yet to be announced.
