Today, the Orthodox Church commemorates the memory of the holy Matrona. She was a devout woman who dedicated her life to God. In the 5th century, Matrona married Domitian, but in her heart, she wished to devote her life to the Lord, so she prayed for Him to free her from the bonds of marriage. One day, she decided to escape from her husband to a monastery. There, Matrona became famous for her miracles and prophecies. She healed the sick, discerned people's thoughts, predicted the future, and pointed out sins.
