Starting January 5, Ukraine will regain access to essential social services that ceased operations due to a cyberattack from Russia. This was announced by First Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Nikolai Kucheryavenko during a broadcast on the "Mi Ukraine" channel.

The Deputy Minister noted that from tomorrow, options such as applying for "Winter eSupport," obtaining a child’s residence certificate, assistance for single mothers and fathers with children, support for individuals with disabilities from childhood, aid for children with disabilities, and services for internally displaced persons (IDPs) will be restored.

The official emphasized that the "eMarriage" service will be reinstated in a few days. This is because all the accumulated paper documents need to be processed beforehand.

Nikolai Kucheryavenko also announced the restoration of several electronic interactions with government bodies that utilize data from the affected registries. Specifically, this pertains to the registries of the Migration Service, Tax Service, Pension Fund, Ministry of Defense, and Ministry of Digital Transformation.

Cyberattack on State Registries: What We Know

On December 19, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine reported a massive failure at the network infrastructure level servicing state registries. At that time, lawyers warned that until the registries were restored, it would be impossible to get divorced, register a child's birth, or expect to receive social benefits or subsidies.

By December 30, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine announced the restoration of three key notarial registries: the Unified Registry of Powers of Attorney, the Inheritance Registry, and the Unified Registry of Special Forms of Notarial Documents.

It is worth noting that cybersecurity expert Konstantin Korsun claims that Russians stole data from the registries during the cyberattack, while Minister of Justice Olga Stefanishina denies any data breach.
