In Kyiv, pensioners with limited mobility can take advantage of free taxi services.
This was reported by lawyer Mikhail Vulakh during a broadcast on the "Kyiv 24" channel.
Furthermore, these groups of citizens are entitled to free taxi rides for up to 124 hours a year, with the funding for this service covered by the city budget.
As Mikhail Vulakh explained, to access this assistance for elderly individuals facing mobility challenges, one must contact the Center for Administrative Services and submit the appropriate application. After this, a specialist will verify if the application meets the eligibility criteria for receiving the services. Once this status is confirmed, the pensioner gains access to a personal account for organizing trips.
Additionally, Politeka wrote that in Ukraine, children are entitled to free public transport rides, but only under certain conditions and up to a specific age.
According to the Ukrainian law "On Road Transport," children under 6 years old can travel for free if they do not occupy a separate seat. At the same time, there are important nuances:
For international routes, a child's birth certificate is required.
Children aged 6 and older can travel independently on city buses, but on intercity and international routes, children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
One adult can transport only one child under 6 years old for free on their lap or in their arms.
For children over 6 years old, the fare is charged at full price.
