About the work of rescuers in Kharkiv region during the 1000 days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service in the Kharkiv region.
During this period, the SES employees conducted 32,600 missions, primarily to mitigate the consequences of enemy shelling.
“During the war in our region, sappers from the combined unit of the SES have neutralized over 106,000 enemy explosive devices,” the SES added.
Firefighters rescued more than 1,000 people from the rubble. However, at times, they did this at the cost of their own lives. According to the SES, eight people died while working at the sites of “strikes,” and 57 were injured. Another eight sappers lost their lives while attempting to defuse explosives in our region, and 42 personnel were injured.
