The fear of a Third World War and a potential apocalypse is fueling the trend for secure underground shelters. Near Washington, a luxurious refuge is being built for millionaires, who will need to pay 20 million dollars for a spot in the Aerie bunker. Project leaders describe its proximity to the White House as merely a "coincidence." This is reported by Daily Mail.
Inside the lavish "Doomsday" bunker, which costs 300 million dollars, the ultra-wealthy elite will find sanctuary if a Third World War breaks out. The new construction is being developed by SAFE (Strategically Armored & Fortified Environments), a Virginia-based company specializing in designing fortified real estate. SAFE has unveiled plans for the construction of a luxury fortress and promises to complete it by 2026.
The luxurious Aerie bunker, intended solely for club members who have each contributed 20 million dollars, is equipped with swimming pools, an AI-based healthcare system, and lavish suites.
The bunker is designed to accommodate 625 people. Despite being located in close proximity to the White House in Washington, project leaders insist that the site's location is simply a "coincidence" and has nothing to do with global tensions and fears of a potential Third World War.
This fortress is just one of many similar shelters built for the ultra-wealthy in recent years. Prominent figures like Kim Kardashian, Mark Zuckerberg, and Tom Cruise have admitted to constructing their own shelters or reserving a spot in one of the luxurious refuges.
Clients willing to pay a substantial amount will not only gain access to the fortress in the event of an apocalypse but will also be able to enter capsules when they feel their safety is at risk.
In addition to memory foam mattresses and marble floors, Aerie will offer guests an unparalleled set of amenities, including countless "wellness programs" and the perfect blend of "protection and luxury."
The shelter will also feature gourmet restaurants, an indoor pool, an ice room, intravenous therapy suites, a bowling alley, and a climbing wall.
According to SAFE's Medical Readiness Director Naomi Corby, the "impenetrable dwelling" will prioritize both privacy and security.
She mentioned that the "multifaceted club" will provide its millionaire members with the opportunity to retreat and "conduct business" behind "impenetrable" walls. However, even in the millionaire bunker, a four-tier membership is available.
Naomi Corby stated that the lowest tier will be accessible to a "moderately successful CEO," while "shelter membership" will be available only by invitation to those deemed worthy of the gold-standard bunker. The company directors are still negotiating who will be offered this opportunity.
Besides the bunker in Virginia, the company plans to expand its empire of luxurious safe havens to other parts of the United States.
The company insists that plans for building facilities outside Virginia are "strategic" and based solely on considerations of convenience, and do not reflect the turmoil in the political world.
SAFE's founder and president, Al Corby, remarked: "It's a coincidence, but it's the richest state per capita. It's the epicenter of the best demographic situation in the world for something like this."
Corby explained that the decision to build an elite shelter was inspired by the tragic death of one of SAFE's clients, who paid 103 million dollars for a personal security system but ultimately lost his life when an armed man opened fire at a concert they were attending.
"Imagine being one of the wealthiest and most influential people in the world, and then something unimaginable happens, and you become an ordinary guy with nowhere to go," Al stated.
Although it will take several years to complete construction, a preview tour of the shelter will take place in 2026, allowing potential clients to visit and decide whether to invest in a room.
Who will join the new "Apocalypse Club" remains undisclosed, but Naomi Corby noted that the luxurious bunker will house some of the most famous and controversial clients of the company. Reports indicate that the company has received thousands of inquiries from wealthy individuals around the globe.
Ron Hubbard, founder and CEO of Atlas Survival Shelters, which is behind the creation of underground shelters for many celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, stated that he believes "civil unrest" will drive his wealthy clients to seek refuge rather than war.
It is worth noting that in 2022, a professor from New York University shared how he advised five billionaires at a secret meeting on how to protect themselves in the event of an apocalypse, which they ironically referred to as The Event. Additionally, where to best build bunkers, the wealthy seriously considered whether to put electric collars on their staff to keep them under control.
