After the occupation of part of the Kharkiv region, a 61-year-old resident of Kupiansk began collaborating with the enemy, reported Vladyslav Abdula, spokesperson for the SBU in the Kharkiv region.
According to the investigation, the man previously worked in the police. After the occupation of Kupiansk, he took a position in the RF Ministry of Internal Affairs. There, he started working as the head of the "forensic department."
“The collaborator kept records of employees in his assigned unit, collected fingerprints from individuals unlawfully detained by the occupation law enforcement agency, made decisions regarding research and expertise based on inspection materials and criminal cases, and was also involved in creating illustrative materials for the protocols of crime scene investigations,” – shared information from the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office.
After the city was liberated, the man fled to the RF, law enforcement officials added. He was charged with collaboration activities in absentia.
