As a result of a missile strike on the center of Kharkiv on the morning of November 25, two out of three stained glass windows were shattered in the main building of the Hryhorii Skovoroda Pedagogical University.

The portraits of educators Anton Makarenko and Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi did not survive the impact, while the image of Hryhorii Skovoroda remained unharmed, reported university professor Halyna Kuts.

“It’s some kind of miracle. Skovoroda survived! When the largest building of our university in Saltivka was destroyed by a Russian Iskander in July 2022, the monument to Skovoroda remained intact. When the museum in Skovorodynivka was destroyed by a Russian missile in May 2022, the monument to Skovoroda also survived. It’s quite encouraging. It feels like Skovoroda is protecting us,” writes Kuts.

As a reminder, the S-400 missile struck near the CPAU in the Kyiv district in the center of Kharkiv. The explosion occurred without an air raid alert—at half-past eight in the morning. At that moment, the CPAU staff had already arrived at work. Twenty-five people were injured, of which 14 were hospitalized. According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, in addition to the CPAU building, around 40 other structures and residential buildings were also damaged. Regarding the CPAU, the mayor assured that the institution would resume operations on November 26—in a different location. According to the city council's press service, a mobile CPAU will operate on Svobody Street.
