The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, expressed hope that he could end the war in Ukraine within six months, noting that it could become much more serious than it is now.
Trump also criticized President Joe Biden's approach to negotiations with Ukraine, particularly regarding NATO. He pointed out that Russia has opposed the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO for many years, and according to him, Biden violated this principle by allowing Ukraine to consider such an option. Trump expressed understanding of Russia's concerns on this matter.
Regarding a future meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump did not specify a date but mentioned that Putin definitely wants to meet. Trump also expressed the belief that it is not worth waiting until his inauguration, as young people are dying every day.
"This is a war that should never have happened. If I were president, this war would not have occurred," Trump concluded.
