The President of the United States, Donald Trump, held a briefing following negotiations between the U.S. and Russia in Saudi Arabia.
Here’s what he said:
- “They were very good. Russia wants to do something. They want to stop the wild barbarism. I mean, what’s happening there — thousands of soldiers are killed every week.”
- “It’s not Russia telling Ukraine that they need elections, it’s the situation.” He claims that Zelensky allegedly has 4% support in Ukraine.
- Trump stated that the war in Ukraine could have been resolved without territorial losses and even a few years ago.
- I want to see if I can save millions of lives. This could even end in a third world war.
- The U.S. has given Ukraine $350 billion. “Where is all this money, no one knows where it is?” Ukraine will have to pay or figure out where the money went.
- “Where have you been for 3 years?” — Trump asked, addressing those dissatisfied with the lack of an invitation to the negotiations. This should not have started; it has long been time for an agreement.
- Russia can very quickly completely destroy Ukrainian cities, but they don’t want to do that.
- Trump is not against European troops in Ukraine; however, he will not send American troops.
