Drone Attack on Ryazan

The governor of the region, Pavel Malkov, reported on the "successful" destruction of unmanned aerial vehicles by air defense and electronic warfare forces over the Ryazan region. According to him, there were no casualties. He later added that as a result of the air attack, debris from a drone fell on a private house, causing a fire that was extinguished quickly. There were no injuries.

At the same time, according to information from Russian media, the region was attacked by drones. At least ten explosions were heard near a local oil depot.

It was later revealed that the Novo-Ryazan CHPP was attacked, resulting in a fire. This facility is located near a local oil refinery — which could have been the target of the attack.

Andrei Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, noted that the oil refinery is one of the key facilities in the oil industry of the Russian Federation. It is under sanctions but continues to operate.

The refinery in the Ryazan region plays a crucial role in supplying fuel for both the civilian and military-industrial complex of Russia. It produces fuel for military vehicles, aviation kerosene, diesel fuel, and other types of petroleum products used in tanks, aircraft, ships, and other equipment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Attack on Moscow and the Region

The mayor of the capital, Sergey Sobyanin, reported on the drone attack on Moscow. He noted that air defense systems were active in the area, and several UAVs were neutralized.

According to him, the "drone attack was repelled" in the Kolomna urban district and the Ramensky urban district. Subsequently, he stated that another 2 drones were shot down in the Podolsk urban district, 1 UAV was neutralized in the Troitsky administrative district of Moscow, and another 1 — already in the Shchyolkovo urban district. All were heading towards the Russian capital. Emergency services specialists are currently working at the scenes, and there have been no reports of damaged objects or injuries.

Bryansk and the Region: What We Know About the Attack

A drone strike occurred on the night of February 24 in Bryansk. The "Kremniy" factory was attacked. As reported by the Telegram channel Mash, in Bryansk, "the debris of the destroyed drone fell near the production facility."

Andrei Kovalenko added that the factory produces microelectronics for missile systems, the Pantsir air defense missile system, Iskander missiles, as well as for radar stations, electronic warfare, and Russian UAVs. He reminded that this is at least the third drone attack on the facility.

Attack on Engels: Details

Drones also attacked Engels in the Saratov region. At least seven explosions were heard in the sky.

"Preliminarily, long-range UAVs of the 'Lyuty' type and 2.5-meter kamikaze drones 'Bober' were involved in the attack," the reports stated.

Attack on Other Regions

The governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, reported a drone threat. Later, he added that all drones were neutralized.

"There are no preliminary reports of injuries or damage," he noted.

A warning about the threat of drone attacks was issued in Tatarstan. Residents of the region were advised to stay indoors and avoid windows.

Airport Operations During the Attack

Due to the threat, the operations of airports were temporarily suspended: Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, Vnukovo, as well as in Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Penza, Saratov, Ufa, and Samara.

In these airports, a "Carpet" plan was implemented. This is announced if there is a threat to aircraft or if the crossing of the Russian border has been detected. The measures include a ban on landing and takeoff of flights.

Recall that recently around 50 drones attacked 6 regions of the Russian Federation, including an aircraft factory and an oil depot. Later, the General Staff confirmed the strike on the Smolensk aircraft factory for military aircraft.
