A parody of GTA 6 titled Grand Taking Ages 6 has managed to convince Valve, the owner of Steam, that it can be sold through the online service, reports Eurogamer.
This decision came after Sony removed the version of the project for PS5, which was set to launch in the PlayStation Store.
Following this, the developers of the "parody" decided to rebrand their creation by removing the number 6 from the title. The release date for the renamed game on Steam has been set for July 2025. Additionally, some details have emerged about what the game will actually entail.
The company Violarte, which is developing Grand Taking Ages, stated that it will be a simulator where players will take on the role of a game developer.
The developers made changes to assure the owner of Steam that their project is completely legitimate and does not infringe on copyrights. It was noted that modifications were made to the logo and design of the game to ensure it clearly differs from GTA 6, which is being developed by Rockstar.
The developer company Violarte is also confident that the removal of their game from Sony's store was temporary.
"We genuinely believe that with the recent updates, Grand Taking Ages is now ready for re-listing in the PlayStation Store. We are firmly confident that there will be no issues with Sony this time, considering the changes we have made," the developers stated.
Violarte also mentioned that they have once again requested Sony to reinstate the Grand Taking Ages game page in the store.
As for Grand Theft Auto 6 from Rockstar, it is expected to be released in late 2025.
In case you missed it, the potential price of Grand Theft Auto VI has been announced. Analysts claim that the price of GTA 6 in 2025 may break a "key price barrier".
