Employers are always on the lookout for them: discover which professions have become the rarest in demand.

In 2024, the Ukrainian labor market continued to experience a strong demand for skilled trades such as builders, plumbers, electricians, welders, and seamstresses. At the same time, rare job openings began to emerge, where employers were specifically seeking qualified specialists. This is reported by the State Employment Service.

Among the highlighted professions were:

• yeast cultivation technician — only 12 vacancies. This specialist is responsible for the propagation and growth control of yeast used in the food industry. It is noted that this field combines science with technology, which is essential for creating important ingredients for many industrial sectors;
• piano and grand piano tuner — 5 vacancies. A specialist who performs precise tuning and repairs of musical instruments. Requirements include accurately tuning pianos and grand pianos to the standard pitch using a tuning fork (a device that facilitates the tuning of musical instruments). The tuner must also be able to fix defects and restore musical instruments;
• halva mixer — 4 vacancies. A specialist involved in the production of Eastern sweets, overseeing their texture and quality;
• live model — 4 vacancies. A person who poses for artists, sculptors, or photographers, demonstrating specified poses;
• prop maker — 3 vacancies. A craftsman who creates realistic replicas of objects for theater, film, or exhibition installations;
• wig maker — 2 vacancies. A specialist who produces wigs, beards, mustaches, and other elements for theater, film, and the fashion industry;
• embryologist — 1 vacancy. A doctor who works in the field of reproductive medicine and assists couples in becoming parents.

The demand for such specialties remains low; however, their uniqueness makes them indispensable in their respective fields.

It is worth noting that the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Financial, Tax, and Customs Policy, Daniil Hetmantsev, considers the issue of economic reservation one of the most challenging in the past five years. It is impossible to reach a decision that would satisfy everyone.
