Келлог офіційно став спецпредставником Трампа з питань України

On February 3, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an order appointing Keith Kellogg as special representative for Ukraine and Russia. This was reported by Voice of America journalist Kateryna Lisunova.

Speaking to reporters, Trump mentioned "significant progress" in relations between Moscow and Kyiv, without disclosing further details.

Back in November of last year, it became known that Trump had decided to appoint Kellogg as his assistant and special representative for Ukrainian-Russian issues. Earlier, Reuters, citing sources, reported that Kellogg was being considered for the position of U.S. envoy regarding the conflict in Ukraine, as he had presented his plan for resolving the war.

Kellogg, who led the White House National Security Council staff from 2017 to 2021 and served as an advisor to then-Vice President Mike Pence, is expected to play a key role in peace initiatives, sources noted.

According to media reports, in June, Kellogg proposed to freeze the conflict along the current front line and facilitate negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. He developed his plan in collaboration with Fred Fleitz, the former chief of staff of the U.S. National Security Council.
