The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, also commented on the conflict that occurred in Kharkiv involving the officers of the TCC and a female lawyer.
“The situation with the violation of citizens' rights during mobilization measures is unacceptable! I saw a video on social media that documented the obstruction of a lawyer's entry into the premises of the VVK at one of the TCCs and SPs in Kharkiv. Physical force was applied to her by a man in uniform. I consider this disgraceful act intolerable,” the ombudsman wrote.
He demands a legal assessment of the actions of the TCC and SP employees and the prosecution of those responsible.
“I immediately instructed my representative in the Kharkiv region, Oksana Chervyakova, to ascertain the actual circumstances of the situation. Letters were sent to the Kharkiv OTCC and SP for this purpose just yesterday. I also sent a letter to the State Bureau of Investigation to initiate a criminal case regarding this incident,” Lubinets noted.
The ombudsman emphasized that such cases of human rights violations are occurring more frequently.
Let us remind you, the conflict occurred on December 9 in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. A 28-year-old woman contacted the police after arriving for a meeting with a client who was allegedly undergoing a medical examination at the RTC. This led to a conflict situation with a representative of the TCC. The Kharkiv TCC issued a statement acknowledging the conflict and confirming that their employees were involved. According to them, the conflict was triggered by the behavior of the citizen, while the military command condemned the actions of the serviceman who fell for the provocation.
