In the Lviv region, an 18-year-old military academy cadet is suspected of treason, reported the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Western Region.
The soldier, originally from Kharkiv, transferred to study in the Lviv region and began spying for the Russians for money. She documented the locations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the aftermath of shelling, subsequently relaying this information to the enemy.
The informant communicated with the Russians via a messenger app on her smartphone. Law enforcement uncovered her activities and prevented potential attacks on Ukrainian military positions.
During searches, authorities seized her smartphone and laptop, which contained evidence of espionage. She has been detained and is being held without the right to bail.
For treason, the cadet faces a potential sentence of 15 years to life imprisonment, along with the confiscation of her assets.
