26-year-old Caitlin Walton from the UK shared that the government identifies her as an immigrant due to the lack of birth documents. Her mother gave birth to her without assistance in the town of Gateshead in 1997, but did not officially register her. This was reported by The Sun.

Caitlin never received a birth certificate and learned about her uncertain status when she turned 19. After leaving her troubled home early, the British woman found herself in a limbo: she was unable to obtain a national insurance number, passport, or driver's license.

As a result, Walton "does not exist" in legal terms and cannot find employment. In 2019, she tried to apply for a passport, but it is impossible to do so without a birth certificate.

Caitlin was able to open a bank account only after her aunt and cousin came with her and pleaded with the staff to consider their situation. Until she turned 18, Caitlin was supported by relatives, as she was unable to earn a living on her own.

"It feels like I’ve been erased from existence — I feel completely invisible. I want to work and live a normal life, but as it stands, if I die, they wouldn't even be able to bury me," says the woman, who has no documents obtained before the age of three.

She was told that the Home Office could not do anything because she is not a UK citizen. The General Register Office also does not know how to handle such situations.

"I feel so lonely — my mother abandoned me, my family doesn’t want to help, and even the government is indifferent. If something happens to my aunt, I don’t even know where to go. No one should live like this, unable to work, drive a car, or even prove they are alive," the woman expresses with despair.

British journalists reached out to the Home Office for comments regarding this situation.

Additionally, 30-year-old Renee Reader was left disappointed and empty after missing her $2,000 Australian dollar (54,000 UAH) vacation due to the airline's refusal to board her flight. The issue arose during a layover in Melbourne while Renee was traveling to Bali from Australia.
