Wet snow followed by a warm-up: what to expect from the weather in Ukraine this weekend.

On Friday, November 15, wet snow is expected in most regions of Ukraine. However, it will become a bit warmer over the weekend. This information is reported by meteorologists from Ukrhydrometcentre.

Natalia Ptukha, the spokesperson for Ukrhydrometcentre, noted that wet snow had already fallen in several regions on November 14. It was slightly more than anticipated in the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Poltava regions. Today, wet snow is also expected in other parts of the country, except for the southern regions where light rain is forecasted.

Since wet snow is a mixed phase of precipitation, icy conditions may develop on Ukrainian roads. Caution is particularly advised when temperatures drop to 0°C or below.

"Temperatures ranging from 3°C to -2°C are expected over the next few nights. However, in Transcarpathia and in the mountains, nighttime temperatures are predicted to be slightly lower — from 0°C to -6°C," — Ptukha explained.

During the day on November 15, temperatures in Ukraine will range from 0°C to 5°C due to the passage of atmospheric fronts. It will be a bit warmer in the southern regions of Ukraine, reaching up to 9°C.

At the same time, an increase in temperature is anticipated over the weekend and on Monday — from 4°C to 11°C during the day.

"This indicates that the snow cover that has formed in some regions of Ukraine currently has no chance of settling. However, starting Wednesday, November 20, there will be a significant restructuring in the synoptic pattern across all of Europe. This will allow cyclones to appear more frequently over Ukrainian territory," — the spokesperson for Ukrhydrometcentre clarified.

In the second half of November, precipitation is expected, which may include snow.

According to Ukrhydrometcentre, on Friday, November 15, the weather in Ukraine will be cloudy. Light wet snow and rain are expected. Icy conditions are forecasted on the roads of the country, except for the south.

Nighttime temperatures will range from 3° above zero to 2° below, while daytime temperatures will be between 0-5° above zero, with the southern part experiencing 4-9°.

Regarding the warming expected over the weekend, reported meteorologist Natalia Didenko. According to her, on November 15, temperatures in Ukraine will not exceed +1...+4 degrees, and by Saturday, +4...+7 degrees are anticipated, with Sunday seeing +6...+12 degrees. And no precipitation is expected.
