On the night of October 13, a military transport aircraft Tu-134 was destroyed in Russia. This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
"The Tu-134 aircraft belonged to the 117th military transport aviation regiment of the aggressor state's armed forces.
A devastating fire broke out at the Russian military airfield "Orenburg-2," where the Tu-134 was stationed," the statement said.
Such Soviet aircraft are used, among other things, for transporting senior staff of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The passenger aircraft Tu-134 was developed by the Tupolev design bureau. The aircraft was produced serially from 1966 to 1984 and supplied to Aeroflot and airlines in Eastern European countries. A total of 852 Tu-134 aircraft of all modifications were built.
The Tu-134 is designed for operation on medium-length routes, with a cabin capacity for 76 passengers.
The aircraft is equipped with two turbojet engines featuring thrust reversers. An auxiliary power unit provides engine start-up, electrical power, and air conditioning system operation.
