The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) arrested another FSB agent in Kharkiv – a 33-year-old construction worker who was directing Russian strikes against Ukrainian military forces defending the city.
Targeted locations included areas with the highest concentration of personnel and military equipment in Kharkiv and the surrounding region.
To guide Russian missiles around air defense systems, the agent attempted to identify and relay the positions of air defense systems and radar stations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the occupiers.
To determine the coordinates of military targets, the traitor surveyed the area, secretly recording the locations of potential targets.
The information he gathered was sent via messenger to his Russian handler in the form of photo and video files with detailed descriptions.
Additionally, the perpetrator monitored the aftermath of Russian air strikes in Kharkiv. For this purpose, he received coordinates of potential “hits” from the FSB and then conducted further reconnaissance at those sites.
SBU officers apprehended the agent while he was carrying out a new task for the FSB. At the scene, they seized his mobile phone in the act.
The suspect is currently in custody and faces life imprisonment with asset confiscation.
