In the Poltava region, a conscript refused mobilization, citing his age and health condition as reasons.
This was reported by TSN referencing the official court ruling.
The man turned 50 and stated that he suffers from serious health issues that prevent him from fulfilling his military duties.
Case Circumstances
According to court documents, in March 2024, a medical commission deemed the man fit for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was issued a summons to serve, but he refused. The reasons for his refusal included his age, health condition, and other circumstances.
He explained that he has completely lost vision in one eye, has never served in the army, and is already raising grandchildren. Additionally, he understands that due to his physical condition, he cannot be of any use to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Court Decision
The court found the man guilty of evading mobilization and sentenced him to two years of conditional imprisonment.
Politeka also wrote about how men in Transcarpathia attempted to flee Ukraine disguised as a funeral cortege. Initially, the traffickers planned to transport two young men to the border under the guise of a funeral procession, but when the border guards sensed something was wrong, they attempted to escape.
