The war in Ukraine could be concluded by 2025.

This is the opinion of Sky News correspondent Ivor Bennett.

"Recently, both sides expressed their willingness to make concessions in order to reach a peace agreement. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he is ready to concede territory, while [Kremlin dictator] Vladimir Putin mentioned that Russia is prepared to compromise," Bennett noted.

The Sky News correspondent also suggests that the Kremlin aims to resolve the conflict by May 9, 2025.

"I believe the Kremlin hopes to wrap up negotiations by May 9, when the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany will be celebrated. The goal would be a dual celebration," Bennett remarked.

However, the correspondent points out that even if the war ends, Putin will face new challenges that will arise in Russia post-conflict. He predicts that the Kremlin will have to contend with a range of economic issues, including rising inflation, a declining ruble, and weak economic productivity.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that one of the country's priorities will be to end the war in Ukraine.

"We hope that a new era will begin in our north in 2025," he noted.
