The main news of the day is in the chronicle of the MG "Obektiv".
Over the past day, the enemy carried out ten airstrikes using 16 KABs, 22 NARs, and also 40 kamikaze drone strikes. They also conducted 320 shellings of the positions of Ukraine's defenders, reported the Operational Command "Kharkiv".
The enemy's losses over the past day amounted to 78 people, including 30 irretrievable and 48 sanitary.
Additionally, in the Kharkiv direction, the enemy lost 42 units of weapons and military equipment destroyed and damaged.
During the past day, police stopped 27 drivers showing signs of intoxication while operating vehicles, reported the Patrol Police Department of Kharkiv region.
"Fortunately, the intoxicated journeys of these drivers ended with stops by patrol officers. Administrative materials have been prepared for all of them, which will be submitted to the court," noted the law enforcement officials.
According to data from the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleg Synegubov, on January 1, the enemy actively bombarded the Zolochiv community with KABs. At 20:18, as a result of a strike in the village of Turovo, two private houses were damaged.
At 20:00, a KAB "hit" the village of Stohnii, but there were no destructions. In the village of Kovaly, four private houses and economic buildings were damaged as a result of an airstrike.
"Between 15:00 and 17:00, KAB strikes were carried out beyond the settlements of Zavodske, Petrovka, and Udy. No destructions occurred," added the head of the RDA.
Furthermore, at 09:40 in the city of Kupiansk, a civilian car was damaged due to the dropping of ammunition from a UAV. At 09:00, the village of Kazachya Lopan was also under fire, damaging civilian infrastructure.
Over the past day, the enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Okhrimivka, Petrovka, Kovaly, Alisovka, Udy, Kazachya Lopan, Liptsy, and Maly Prokhody, reported the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a summary as of 08:00.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were seven attacks by the occupiers. Defense forces repelled the enemy's assault actions near Kolesnykivka, Zahryzovo, Lozova, and Nova Kruhlyakivka.
In the Kharkiv direction, the occupiers are advancing towards the Oskol River. Deputy Commander of the 3rd OShBr Maxim Zhorin reports the threat to Kupiansk and Borova.
"The enemy's assault actions in the Kharkiv direction occur daily, with no breaks 'for the holidays.' The Russian army is advancing towards the Oskol River both from the side of Makeevka (to the south) and in the area of Zahryzovo (to the north). In the area of Dvurechna, they are constantly attempting to cross, and these attempts are quite audacious — using ordinary boats, which they sometimes steal from locals. This creates a threat to Kupiansk and Borova," noted Zhorin.
According to him, the main difficulty is the weather conditions, which sometimes hinder reconnaissance of approaches and the ability to inflict fire damage with drones.
"Sometimes the Russians manage to approach our positions very closely, after which we have to conduct a clearance of the area and assist neighboring units in reclaiming positions," added Zhorin.
