38-year-old Dale Harvey has visited over 5,000 pubs in the UK over the past three years and continues his mission to ensure that "beer never runs dry." This is reported by the Daily Star.
Since March 16, 2022, Dale Harvey from Nottingham has visited more than 5,020 pubs, traveling across the UK from Edinburgh to Penzance.
Recently, he managed to visit 20 pubs in a single day. His goal is to raise awareness about the rapid decline of pubs.
"I've been to many pubs on the brink of closing. I managed pubs for over 20 years, but I stopped during Covid. If I get a message from landlords that they are in trouble, I do everything I can," Dale shared.
He takes notes about each pub he visits. Most of the week, Dale spends his time away from home.
The guy mentioned that he enjoys visiting "diverse" pubs, including "old, craft beer establishments, and sports bars."
Now, Dale has turned his mission to visit every pub in the UK into a full-time job, which he doesn't wrap up until 11 PM.
"People don't see the unglamorous side of me sitting in a hotel room, editing and taking notes until 3 AM. Then I have to wake up at 10 AM and head to the next place," Dale lamented.
The guy found that Liverpool has the "best" number of pubs, managing to visit 65 venues during his stay in the city. Dale also believes that top-notch pubs are located in Newcastle and the village of Ashby-de-la-Zouch in Leicestershire.
The cheapest pub Dale visited cost $1.75 at Wetherspoons, but he spent $20 on craft beer in London.
Dale not only enjoys his time sipping a pint and helping raise awareness about struggling pubs in the UK, but he has also met many "great" people along the way.
As a reminder, in January, nearly 30 people were trapped in a snowbound pub in the UK.
