The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv has announced that it has received specific information regarding a "potential significant air attack" scheduled for November 20. This is stated on the diplomatic agency's website.
"The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv has received concrete information about a potential significant air attack on November 20. As a precautionary measure, the embassy will be closed, and its staff have been instructed to shelter in place. The U.S. Embassy advises American citizens to be prepared to seek immediate shelter in the event of an air raid alert," the statement reads.
They noted that it is essential to stay updated with local media and to familiarize oneself with nearby shelters in advance. In the event of an air raid alert, U.S. citizens were advised to take cover and to follow the instructions of Ukrainian officials and rescuers during emergencies.
The head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalенко, reminded that the Russians have been stockpiling missiles for a series of strikes on Ukraine for months.
"This includes X-101 missiles, which they continue to manufacture, as well as Kalibrs and ballistic missiles. The Russian Federation's aviation is prepared for strikes, with missile stocks at strategic aviation airfields and warehouses. There are also ships involved," he added.
Recall that on the evening of November 18, the enemy attacked the town of Hlukhiv in the Sumy region with two Shahed drones. One of the dormitories was hit, resulting in casualties and injuries.
Additionally, on the night of November 19, 2024, Russia attacked Ukraine with 87 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and drones of unspecified types. Besides the casualties and injuries, over 17,000 citizens were left without electricity.
