Two women were injured after a nighttime strike caused a house fire in the Kharkiv region.

Regarding the fires that occurred in the Kharkiv region over the past 24 hours, reported in the morning summary for January 9 by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.

According to firefighters, one fire broke out in the Berestynskyi district due to shelling in the area.

“Around 10:00 PM in the village of Novoe Pekel'noe, Berestynskyi district, a fire erupted as a result of debris from an enemy UAV falling onto private property. A passenger car burned over an area of 6 square meters. The fire was promptly extinguished by the efforts of the SES units. Ten rescuers and two pieces of equipment were involved,” the SES clarified.

They also added that a private house, two outbuildings, and a vehicle were damaged. Additionally, there are reports of two women injured due to the strike.

In total, the rescuers had ten operational call-outs, three of which were for fire extinguishing.
