The unique lighthouse has been transformed into a spacious seven-bedroom house that is sure to intrigue fans of unusual properties. Inside, it even features its own jacuzzi. This is reported by The Sun.
The extraordinary home is now up for sale. Once, West Usk Lighthouse protected ships at the mouth of the River Severn in Wales, and now everyone has the opportunity to live with stunning views of the sea or sandy beaches, complete with a coastal mudflat teeming with diverse wildlife.
3 4The West Usk Lighthouse is listed as a Grade II building, "notable for its unusual shape." The history of the structure dates back to 1821, designed by consulting engineer James Walker.
Initially, a simple 17-meter tower was constructed, and in 1867, according to records, it underwent significant expansion.
5"Originally, the interior layout consisted of wedge-shaped rooms surrounding a central spiral staircase. There were two symmetrical rooms built for the two lighthouse keepers and their families," the report states.
In 1922, the lighthouse was decommissioned and put up for sale for £670 (35,500 UAH). After that, it remained abandoned until renovations were made around the 1960s. Two decades later, it was once again left to deteriorate.
In 1987, new owners took over the lighthouse and transformed it into a modern home. Thanks to their careful approach, the original lantern room was preserved, and since then, the former lighthouse has been used as a guesthouse and wedding venue. It was even featured in an episode of "Doctor Who."
6Years later, the lighthouse has once again become a private residence and is currently on the market. It boasts a luxurious rooftop terrace beneath the lantern room, offering panoramic views of the surrounding sea and landscapes. Wildlife can be observed right from the jacuzzi on the deck.
The building includes a total of 7 bedrooms, not counting the living and dining areas, providing ample space for a large group. The asking price for this unique property is £2.2 million (119 million UAH), and the new owner could potentially earn up to £454,000 (24 million UAH) annually in rental income.
7 8Recall that on November 6, it was reported that a "nice family home" was for sale in Britain, completely covered in rubbish. The new owner will receive the property as it appears in the photographs. The advertisers acknowledge the issue but believe the house has great potential.
