The fire report was received the previous evening at 19:47, writes the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.
A two-story private house was on fire in the village of Dokuchaevsk in the Kharkiv district.
“By the time the rescuers arrived, the flames had spread over an area of 200 square meters. The wooden structures of the roof were ablaze. To extinguish the fire, the rescuers deployed three fire hoses and prevented the fire from spreading to the lower floor,” the State Emergency Service noted.
The fire was localized at 21:05, and fully extinguished by 22:36. Preliminary findings indicate that the cause of the fire was a violation of fire safety rules during the operation of the heating stove.
“A total of 22 rescuers and 6 units of emergency service equipment were involved at the scene,” the firefighters added.
