Ukraine has received information indicating that Russia is preparing two units of North Korean troops, likely comprising two brigades of 6,000 personnel each.
This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening video address on October 22.
The head of state described this information as a "challenge," emphasizing that Ukraine knows how to respond to it.
It is crucial for our partners not to ignore this challenge as well, the president added.
Zelensky noted that Ukraine expects a "strong and concrete response from the international community, preferably not just in words."
He also pointed out that if North Korea can participate in a war in Europe, it indicates insufficient pressure on Pyongyang.
We are all interested in ending the war rather than prolonging it. Therefore, we must unite our efforts to stop Russia and its allies, the president concluded.
