CBS has renewed the series "Matlock" after only two episodes aired, and while the renewal of the legal drama occurred quite early, it is not surprising.

CBS wanted to ensure it maintained excitement, so they quickly finalized and announced the renewal deal. Thus, in addition to the eighteen episodes that CBS had already approved, "Matlock" will return with a brand new set of stories in the fall of 2025.

Now that "Matlock" has been confirmed for Season 2, the writers must decide whether to wrap up the revenge storyline in Season 1.

The plot is not only a key part of its central premise but also sets the series apart from other legal shows.

Сериал "Мэтлок"

Once Matlock's secret story is concluded, there is a risk that viewers may lose interest, especially if it turns into just another case-of-the-week show, with nothing distinguishing it from others in the genre.

...once the revenge narrative ends, Madeline will find it harder to maintain this facade, as she will have to acknowledge that it’s all just a game.

While these breaks between episodes can be frustrating, they do have their positives.

It's not only more time for new viewers of "Matlock" to catch up, but also more time to figure out what we want to see next. And "friends" seem to be starting the year just right for Miss Kingston's double life.
