Synegubov: "We are prepared for a worsening situation" – an update on the current events in the Kharkiv region.

Oleg Sinegubov discussed how they will respond in the event of a potential worsening situation in the frontline settlements of the region during a national marathon broadcast.

“We are prepared for a possible deterioration of the situation. We can quickly organize evacuation measures, and we understand how it was in the northern part of our territory this spring when thousands of people were evacuated simultaneously. Of course, we have reserved accommodation and our international partners have established reserves to provide support and assistance. Additionally, our volunteer organizations are united in a coordination headquarters under the regional military administration, and there are more than 250 such organizations,” Sinegubov stated.

He also reminded that evacuation is currently ongoing from 344 settlements in Kharkiv region. However, despite the threat of shelling, people remain in even the most dangerous areas of the region.

“For instance, on the left bank of the Oskil River in the city of Kupiansk, fortunately, there are no children left, but there are still 133 adults. Unfortunately, they are refusing evacuation. These enhanced measures involve the local authorities and the national police working together with volunteer organizations around the clock to organize evacuations and inform the population about the necessity to leave. This is because the enemy is targeting civilian residential buildings and infrastructure, and we are no longer able to maintain heating, electricity, or water supply there due to the destruction of infrastructure, which we cannot restore. The enemy is also targeting repair crews specifically. Therefore, the only way out in that direction is to move to safer territories, especially since everything is in place for this,” emphasized the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
