In the past year, reports from the 5th Slobozhansk Brigade "SKIF" of the National Guard of Ukraine indicate that 203 criminal cases were opened for attempts to smuggle various prohibited items and substances into the city.
“As noted by the head of the brigade's canine service, Roman with the call sign K-9, there has been a significant increase in the detection of prohibited and dangerous items and substances by canine teams at checkpoints compared to 2023,” the National Guard stated.
Over the year, the canine units identified:
— firearms – 83 units,
— cold weapons – 11 units,
— grenades – 418 pieces,
— ammunition of various calibers – 53,327 pieces,
— explosives – 307.073 kg,
— explosive devices – 1,120 pieces,
— narcotic substances – 3.365 kg.
“The violators, along with the seized weapons, ammunition, explosives, and narcotics, were handed over to law enforcement agencies,” the National Guard added.
