The press service of Karazin University reported the death of Elena Yavorska from Poltava.
Today, emergency rescue operations concluded in Poltava at the site of the collapsed five-story building, as reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
“As a result of the enemy strike, 14 people lost their lives, including 2 children aged 9 and 12. 20 individuals were injured, among them 4 children aged 3 months, 2, 8, and 12 years. 22 people were rescued. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service and the National Police assisted 206 individuals, including 11 children,” — stated the State Emergency Service.
Among the deceased was the family of Elena Yavorska — a master's student at Karazin National University, who was studying in the psychology department.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic death of Elena Yavorska, a master's student of the Faculty of Psychology, as a result of enemy missile strikes in the city of Poltava on February 1, 2025. Elena was a sincere, talented, and determined student. She was known for her kindness, openness, and desire to make the world a better place. Her untimely loss is irreplaceable for all who had the honor of knowing and interacting with her,” — noted the press service of Karazin University.
