Masha Efrosinina revealed the real reason why her joint project with singer and friend Olya Polyakova has been put on hold. She shared the details during a conversation with Olya Polyakova on her YouTube channel.
Masha Efrosinina admitted that she was the one who initiated the pause in the project, expressing her desire to do so as early as autumn 2023. At that time, she communicated her decision to Olya Polyakova's team. She justified the closure by stating that they had run out of topics to discuss and felt they had exhausted their creativity. However, Olya and her team persuaded her to give it another try, assuring her that there were still plenty of subjects for their discussions.
But by 2024, the project genuinely faced the issue of Olya and Masha repeatedly telling the same stories, which, according to Masha Efrosinina, became uninteresting.
"I personally began discussing putting 'Adult Girls' on pause in early autumn 2023. We had a Zoom meeting with your team, and I stated that I felt we were out of steam. Your team, including you, said we still had a ton of topics to cover. My argument about being out of steam was primarily about the topics. We had explored all of them. What bothered me the most was that we were repeating the same stories 5-6 times, and our views started to decline. This is my theory. And you convinced me that I was a complete fool, or rather, just a fool. The only thing you (editor: Olya) agreed to was that we could invite a friend to join us, as my argument was that a friend would bring new stories. Half of the friends we invited somehow didn’t show up. I agreed, and we began to record the same stories for the seventh time," Masha said.
However, later on, Efrosinina confessed that the reason for this was that she was going through a tough period in her life, and her mental state was unstable. It turned out that Olya Polyakova was also experiencing certain emotional ups and downs. Therefore, Efrosinina suggested that this was why there was a need to pause the 'Adult Girls' project so they could take time to recover.
"I am currently going through a very difficult emotional period. I don’t talk about it, and you don’t talk about it. We are both the type to find it hard to discuss these things. It is indeed easier for me, just like it is for you, to sit in 'Adult Girls' with feathers up our backsides and say, 'What about him? What about her? What about this? What about that?' Because in terms of our craft, I have this craft, and you have this craft, we could artificially sustain it for another season. But some changes occurred. I believe 'Adult Girls' needed this pause so that each of us could recharge for a new push or something new," Olya Polyakova said.
Olya Polyakova partially supported Masha's words and added that it was indeed their joint decision to stop filming 'Adult Girls.' However, she believes that the project should be revived, perhaps in a different format, as she thinks the audience is still waiting for it.
"I believe this project is loved by people and has supported many individuals. It's not that I wanted to film 'Adult Girls' while you didn’t. This is our decision together. I just want to say that I understand you couldn’t do this. I could do it technically. Our spots have already been filled. I think that even in such difficult states, discussing these conditions, I could record a whole program right now," Polyakova said.
As a result, Masha and Olya gave their viewers hope that soon their project would come back to life and possibly take on a new format.
Recall that we previously reported that Olya Polyakova admitted how much she is willing to sleep with Masha Efrosinina.
