Two individuals lost their lives as a result of yesterday's airstrike in Kyiv. They were scientists, renowned Ukrainian neurobiologist Ihor Zyma and his wife, biologist Olesia Sokur. Enemy drones fell in the city center, damaging dozens of residential buildings. Rescue workers are still on site.

Pavlo Petrov, spokesperson for the State Emergency Service of Kyiv, discussed the situation in the capital during a broadcast of the "Unified News" telethon.

"Rescue operations in Kyiv have been completed; currently, emergency recovery efforts are underway. Rescue services have not stopped working since yesterday, even at night. In the morning, a different group of rescuers took over to continue addressing the aftermath of the enemy attack. Debris removal is ongoing on the roof, on the sixth floor, where the most significant destruction occurred. We hope that the work will be completed today. There are 50 rescuers and 11 units of equipment operating in Kyiv."

A headquarters has been established for those who have lost their homes. This particular residential building is currently uninhabited. Once the rescuers finish their emergency operations, a damage assessment of the building can be conducted," Petrov stated.
