Georgina Cooper has passed away. The British supermodel was an icon of "Cool Britannia," a runway star of the 1990s, and a friend of Kate Moss. Tragically, Georgina Cooper died at the age of 46 on the island of Kos just a few months after getting married. This is reported by the Daily Mail.
According to her former agent Dean Goodman, Georgina Cooper always loved Greece and planned to live there with her new husband.
"Georgina was feeling unwell during Covid; she experienced some health issues, going in and out of the hospital. However, she had plans for the future. She had just gotten married and was eagerly looking forward to her life. Everyone is devastated. She was a true superstar," Goodman stated.
Georgina Cooper was discovered by a modeling agency at the age of 13, and her first major breakthrough came when she appeared in a Bon Jovi music video at the age of 15.
She then became one of the most recognized models of the 1990s and earned the nickname "the original girl with a gap in her teeth." Georgina was the muse of renowned photographer Corinne Day, worked with major names in the fashion industry, and graced the covers of American Vogue and The Face.
She also starred in Donatella Versace's first show after the death of her brother Gianni.
Friends referred to her as George, and she left the runway to focus on raising her son Sonny. Recently, she had been working in the hospitality industry in Kent.
In 2018, she said in an interview, "I started modeling at 13 when my mom sent me to the Elite Look of The Year competition in 1992. I came in third. It was an amazing experience, and my mom and dad were very proud of me."
"I’m just a girl from South London who loves to travel the world," Cooper said when asked about her modeling career. She advised other models to invest wisely.
Friend and fellow model Jade Parfitt shared that all of Georgina's friends are shocked by her sudden death.
In early June, Georgina Cooper got married in Britain, then traveled to the Greek island of Kos with her husband, where they spent their honeymoon. At the end of October, she returned to Greece but "tragically passed away" due to health issues that arose during the coronavirus pandemic.
It is worth noting that last year, supermodel Tatjana Patitz (or Tatiana Patitz) passed away at the age of 56. She was a star of the runways and magazine covers in the 1990s and collaborated with renowned photographer Herb Ritts.
